The establishment of Faculty of Applied Arts backs as a science in the modern age to the School of arts and royal industries created by Mohamed Ali 1839 in Boulak under the name of processes for the preparation of Engineers to the practical and royal technical, then it's known as the School of Arts and royal crafts . In 1908 the school was connsisted of three sections : mechanics and electricity - buildings and development - art and Industry decorative . In 1910 the decision of the Council of Ministers ,stated that the duration of the study is five years, including four study and one private school cooperation. 1918 the Department of art and ceramics became independent, and an independent school was established , located in Saray Fazil Pasha El Daramally in Al Hamzawy in Cairo . In 1828 it became the name of "school of applied art" and the duration of the study was 3 years after that student gets a diploma in applied . In 1941 Ministerial Decree has issued to change the name of the school to "High school of Applied Arts " and a new regulation and terms of acceptance was put . In 1949, a ministerial decision was issued to implement the higher institutes under the Ministry of public knowledge and among them the" Institute of Applied Arts" In 1950 the name was changed to "the Royal College of Applied Arts" . In 1953 the name was changed again after the revolution of 1952 to the "Faculty of Applied Arts" . In 1975 Helwan University was established and included 21 faculty,the head of them was Faculty of Applied Arts "In 1910 the decision of the Council of Ministers and stated that the duration of the study five years, including four study and private school cooperation.
